Question
Hello,

Could you tell me: there is a receiver FP-LR-120 l. It is necessary to install a safety comb in it (2 safety valves FP-SV-038, combined through a three-way valve FP-TV-114-038). During the laying of highways, they made it difficult to access the PC port. Resoldering of the pipeline, alas, is undesirable. Question: Is it possible to insert a safety comb into the upper sight glass of the receiver, sacrificing some of its functionality?
P.S. Turning the receiver on its axis by 90 degrees will cause other lines to "go".

I would be grateful for an answer. Thanks

ANSWER:
Hello!
According to the requirements, the connection port of the pressure relief device of direct action, spring type, in our case - the safety valve type FP-SV - must be located in the cavity of the vessel, where the refrigerant will be in the gaseous phase! Therefore, on our vessels, the safety valve port is located at the top.
The upper viewing eye is a device for controlling the separation of upper-level media, therefore, under certain conditions, the refrigerant may well be in the liquid phase at this level, if the safety valve is triggered at this moment, there may be negative consequences, such as:
- water hammer;
- valve freezing.
This can lead both to the destruction of the valve itself, and to the destruction of other elements of the system.
Conclusion: it is impossible to install a pre-valve instead of a viewing eye!
Good luck!
